Mrs. Daubert

 

Our school's Science Department welcomes a new face this year. Mrs. Daubert has been hire to replace Mrs. Dabbs after she was promoted to technology coordinator. Mrs Daubert teaches science to mostly seventh and eighth graders in room 209. I got the chance to sit down and talk with her and gain some information about her.

She attended high school at Forest Hills and she graduated college from IUP.She is married with three kids. She enjoys cooking and especially enjoys reading. Her favorite book is "The Killer Angels." Naturally, her favorite school subject is science, and her favorite food is tacos. Her favorite holiday is Christmas, but not only because of the presents and the popularity of the holiday, but she enjoys the atmosphere of the season, and she really likes that she and her family spend the holiday in multiple houses which means they get to celebrate with all the family. Her birthday is April 8th, and she enjoys listening to country music.

When I asked her what her biggest pet peeve at work was, she answered by saying, "I absolutely hate when students arent prepared for class. If you're going to be there anyways, then come prepared and come ready to learn." She became a teacher to encourage students, especially girls, to enter into the field of science and explore the possibilities it has to offer. She says "there is a lot of potential here at CV,and I would really like to see it put to use." So if you see Mrs. Daubert anytime soon,say hello,and if you have her for class, please come prepared!
